Makeup for Mothers of the Bride (& groom!) Part 3

The response to our first two Makejup for the Mother of the Bride and Groom posts has been overwhelming! And it prompted many brides to send us photos of their moms after we did their makeup the day of the wedding. The post is one of the most viewed postings on our blog, which lets us know two things.
1. Our brides LOVE their moms!
2. Moms definitely have a concern about how they will look if they chose to have makeup done the day of the wedding.
We get it! We know the wedding process in itself is overwhelming. Choosing the "Mom" dress can be a challenge in itself. So putting the moms beauty needs in the hand of professionals can take one thing off the To DO list the morning of the wedding. We'll create a look that will leave her looking refreshed and polished.

A-List Artistry in Ithaca NY? YES! A-List Makeup Artist Christina has moved to Ithaca!

You may have heard. Our own makeup artist Christina is ENGAGED!! With Christina's recent engagement, she is joining her fella, and future hubby, in Ithaca as he furthers his education at Cornell University. So it makes perfect sense to have her as our lead makeup artist for Ithaca, Elmira, Corning and Binghamton.

We're excited to have a makeup artist based in Ithaca, as we book a number of clients, both bridal and commercial in the area. Plus it's wine country! Who doesn't love that!
Christina has been an artist with A-List Makeup Artistry for four years. Clients rave about her professionalism, warm personality as well as her skill as a makeup artist,

Christina from A-List Artistry was such a joy to work with. She created an elegant, beautiful look that complimented my wedding gown perfectly. Her contributions to the energetic, blissful environment were much appreciated. In addition to the Bride, she made sure everyone felt beautiful; from the Flower Girl to the Matron of Honor, whether they received her services or not. I would highly recommend A-List Artistry!

When I was looking for a makeup artistry, I specifically asked for someone that has experience on doing Asian bride makeups because I had some bad experience before and I didn't want to ruin my big day. Then I found Christina. Christina was great. She listened to what kind of look I want, and went from there. She also thought about some possible ways to make me look even better at her own time. She was very professional and did a great job on me and everyone else that needed the makeup service that day. My mother-in-law felt beautiful the entire day. I would highly recommend A-List Artistry for your makeup service. They won't disappoint you!

I wish I had enough words to explain how much fun it was working with Christina. She has such a positive energy and a lovely smile, it makes you forget all the big day's stress. She is very talented and flexible. She listened everyone's wishlist very carefully and made great suggestions. The end result was beautiful on our multicultural bridal party with different skin complexions and facial features. I have worked with her in two separate occasions now. I would not even think about searching for someone else if I need another make up session for a different event. I love you Christina and Holly for your constant support, help, flexibility, love, and joyful atmosphere you create! -Tumay
In addition to bridal makeup, Christina specializes in commercial and corporate work ranging from magazine covers, to ad campaigns, to television broadcasts.

Sandra's Mirbeau Inn and Spa wedding makeup in Skaneateles NY

One of the reasons I love Mirbeau Inn and Spa is it is such a serene environment for a bride to get ready in. I was so happy Sandra agreed to have her makeup done on the patio area outside of her room. Natural light is the best to do makeup in and the location gave us plenty of light!
And imagine my surprise when photographer Mary Buttolph was climbing in a tree to get this shot!

The gardens make a beautiful backdrop!

So many fun and unique details!
I totally have a thing for posting brides shoes. I love how the shoes can show a bride's style and personality!

Abigail's Skaneateles Summer Wedding Makeup- The Sherwood Inn Skaneateles, NY

I'm not going to lie. The day of Abigail's wedding it was hot. Actually, for Skaneateles NY in June, it was REALLY HOT! But that didn't bother Abigail and her girls. Abigail had done a makeup preview with myself prior to her wedding, so she had no doubt her makeup was staying put regardless of the temperature.

Abigail and her party her makeup artistry team come to her at The Sherwood Inn  in Skaneateles.
They have a beautiful room that is 3 walls of windows. Perfect for natural light to apply makeup and for photographers to catch some beautiful shots.

Special thanks to Mary Buttolph for sending Abigail to us! I love that Mary appreciates how makeup and photography can go hand in hand!

Love the Lockwood Lavender Farm location chosen for the ceremony.

The lavender dresses were a perfect compliment to the Lockwood Lavender Farm setting.

What a stunning ending to an amazing day!

The Riversedge Resort Bridal Makeup and Wedding at the Antique Boat Museum for Stephanie

A gorgeous August morning in Alexandria Bay area for Stephanie's wedding. I had only been in the area once before for a Senator's campaign commercials and it was Fall, chilly and wet. This was a wonderful change

Stephanie had a large bridal party and a late morning ceremony. We needed Jessica, Christina and myself to make the ladies lovely in a small window of time. With 3 makeup artists in one room, I decided to do makeup in the balcony. This was my view.

We each  make a face chart for each client after their trial. It helps us keep track of each bride's  look. We also create a signature look for the entire bridal party to keep the girls looking cohesive. They can choose from a natural or a more dramatic version.
Christina prepping a bridesmaid for her makeup application.

Not many location offer a photographer a birds eye view! You can see I had to move into the room doorway, as it was getting too hot for makeup application on the balcony. I even got a slight sunburn out there!
Jessica always has a smile on her face when she is working!
Stephanie was such a fun easygoing bride.
Does she have the most amazing eyes, or what??

We started makeup at 6:45Am and the girls still look amazing!

So beautiful!
Thanks James Bass Photography for sharing these with us!

Bridal Makeup for Ellen and Her Ladies

Ellen and her bridal party got ready at her parent's house in Manlius. Practically around the corner from me!
It was a nice short drive for artist Christina Cianciosi and I to get to the house and meet up with our favorite hair stylist, Tiffany Dewald.

Christina working her magic
With Ellen's larger party, Christina and I each did makeup to keep the ladies from having to spend too many hours getting ready for the big event. Ellen opted for airbrush makeup along with her sisters and some of the girls opted for hand-applied makeup. All came out gorgeous!

Holly and Tiffany adjusting Ellen's fascinator

Ellen's girls were so fun to work with! Loved the shirts they made for the occasion. I think almost everyone there knew the same people Christina knew. Everyone felt like family by the time we left.
So pretty!

The final look! What wonderful weather for this Fall wedding. Lucky Ellen! And beautiful work by Genevieve Fridley, the photographer that captured Ellen's day!www.genphotos.com
