Justin Mayer captures the moments

No Regrets!

My own wedding over 11 years ago. I have a lovely album to show off. Some framed photos of the day. I also have the mini video cassette that my aunt so graciously filmed of our ceremony. Which we never watch, because we don't have a  VCR anymore. I didn't put a lot of thought into hiring a pro to film our day.
My one regret of the whole day.

When I saw Rosanne and Steve had Justin Mayer of Mayer Video filming their day, I was intrigued. I  wanted see what modern videography would bring to the day. I have worked several weddings with very intrusive videographers. One actually hit my elbow while I was applying eye makeup, trying to get his "shots" of me applying makeup to the bride. The bride was unscathed, but I was certainly not impressed.

Justin could not have been more professional!  I also found he was a genuine nice guy.
Shortly after the wedding Justin posted a short video on his blog. I was mesmerized! I also admit, a little teary as well. The video completely captures the emotions of the day.
See for yourself

Lucy's lakeside wedding

Lucy wanted to get married at her parents home along the lake in Oswego. I thought it sounded charming! When I got to the house, I must say the view was breathe taking! The house was just feet away from the lake on a wonderful August day.

Tara's Rosamond Gifford Zoo Wedding

Tara contacted me a little over a week before her wedding, looking for an artist for her wedding. Thankfully Jessica was available for the time Tara needed to get ready in.
Airbrush makeup by Jessica @ A-List Artistry
Tara had such an amazing location for her wedding: The Rosamond Gifford Zoo! This was our first bride to have a zoo venue and we were super excited! Tara choose a bolder eye look to compliment the venue.
Tara was so excited to share pictures with us. I usually post primarily professional photos vs guest photos, but we're excited to share Tara's special guest.
I believe this is Siri the Asian Elephant. I had the pleasure of visiting her in the elephant barn with my 4 year old daughter Gigi. Her favorite treat? Black jellybeans!(as approved by her handler)

A few really cool facts about catering at the zoo:
100% of the profits from Catering at the Zoo goes to the care and feeding of the zoo animals!
Catering at the Zoo uses local produce and follows a "green" operation whenever possible.

Lots of good reasons to choose the zoo for your next event!

Tara contacted me about being her makeup artist for her wedding. Although I was scheduled in Auburn that day for a large wedding party, once I knew we had a connection,  I had to make time for Tara too. When I saw her email address I asked where she worked. Turns out she works for the bus company that sells my family's business school buses!

Summer 2011 weddings Photographed by Crystal Herry Photography

 Melissa

Makeup by Holly @ A-List Artistry. Hair by Tiffany Dewald.

I ask brides on their paperwork who their photographer is. It helps me determine time lines for getting ready and if the photographer will be shooting the preparations that day. Whenever I see Crystal Herry's name I get excited.www.crystalherryphotography.com
Crystal is a talented photographer that captures the day perfectly. She is professional but also knows how to keep things fun. Above are a few of Melissa's shots. Melissa's arranged transportation broke down en route to pick her up to go to the church. Crystal piled the girls into her van and got the group to the church on time!

Makeup by Holly @ A-List Artistry. Hair by Tiffany Dewald.
Lauren was such a stunning bride! Crystal knows how to show off each brides assets, for sure!

The minute I moment I met Vicki for her trial and she said her Grandma wanted false lashes for the day of the wedding... I knew this family was going to become one of my favorites. Vicki's wedding day also happened to be Grandma's 87th birthday!
Sooo for all the moms that are afraid of false lashes, if 87 yr old Gram can do it and look fabulous, so can you! And for the record, her mom wore them too!

When I knew Crystal was shooting this wedding I knew I could expect greatness. And she delivered, once again!

Thank you Crystal, for always sending me these beautiful images of my work.
It is always appreciated!

Laure Lillie captures Maureen's amazing day

One of the things  I love about my job is meeting new people. Brides, their family and friends, and some of the vendors they have chosen for the day. August bride Maureen was referred to me by Alexis Cohen. Alexis is the Catering Sales Manager for Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel.
Alexis is amazing with her bridal clients. She wants nothing but the best for them. Since Maureen was staying at the Sheraton, Alexis recommended me for on location airbrush makeup. Tiffany was signed on for on location hair styling and Maureen spent a relaxing morning having her makeup and hair done at the hotel.

I was so excited to learn Maureen had hired Laure Lillie for her photographer! Laure was an additional shooter on another wedding I had done, but we never got the opportunity to meet. I have been following her work and love what I see. So I knew..... Maureen is going to have some fantastic photos!

Was I right! Maureen's ceremony was at Syracuse University's campus chapel. A beautiful setting. And when Maureen slipped on her dress.... it was a moment to say the least. The cut was amazing and she looked breathtaking!

Linsday's Winter Wonderland Wedding

Lindsay was such a fun bride. She opened the door of her suite at Mirbeau Spa in a red striped union suite pj's, complete with the flap on the fanny.
Even with a large bridal party the suite had plenty of room for me to do airbrush makeup on the entire party. I even ended up doing makeup for a guest! Thanks to my assistant Stephanie, who preps all of the girls faces, so I can concentrate on the beauty and design of each lady's look.
Hair was the mastermind of stylist Tiffany Dewald. Lindsay had extensions added before the wedding to get the gorgeous updo she was looking for.
Lindsay's ceremony and reception were held at The Lodge at Welsh Allyn in Skaneateles, NY. All of the amazing details of the day were captured by Meghan Thomas Photography.Meghan never fails to deliver images that capture the emotion and feel of the day.

Thank you Meghan for sending me so many amazing pictures of such a fun day.
And for introducing me to Lindsay!

New Artist added to the A-List Artistry team!

After turning away countless brides for 2011 because I was already booked, I decided it was time to bring on another airbrush artist to keep my brides happy and beautiful! Now anyone who knows me knows I am picky about who I work with. I have been looking for a while and just hadn't find someone that was the total package. I wanted someone that obviously can do amazing makeup. But I needed so much more. I needed a professional. Someone that can look, act and perform as a pro.

I volunteered to be a makeup artist along with my assistant Stephanie for the Breakfast At Tiffany's fundraiser benefiting Hope for Heather. Frieda Weeks, the founder of Hope for Heather, was a colleague in the makeup counter world. She started the foundation after loosing her daughter to cancer several years ago.

I was delighted when I got to the makeup room to see an another old colleague, Jessica Puccia. We worked at rival counters for several years and always had a mutual respect for each other. After I left MAC we had lost touch. She was exactly what I was looking for!

Jessica also has a little one named Gigi! My own Gigi thinks that is hilarious. Thanks Caitlyn Bom Photography for this beautiful shot of my new two favorite girls! And welcome to the team Jessica! Adding Jessica has opened a lot of dates for 2011. Contact for availability!
