Laura's Wedding Day Beauty Prep- Sherwood Inn Wedding

Laura did a great job planning her wedding day. Having a makeup artist and hairstylist come to her mom's house to to pamper everyone gave her a stress free morning.
We set up a timeline for our brides that give them plenty of time to relax and enjoy the little moments.

We always love when we are reunited with photographer James from James Bass Photography

Laura had a beautiful day for her wedding in Skaneateles at the Sherwood Inn
Congratulations Laura!

Makeup artists in Syracuse have fun too!

Being a makeup artist in Syracuse does have some fun opportunities beyond doing makeup for bridal work. While bridal is a large part of our business, we also do commercials, print work, head shots, charity functions and on occasion entertainers.
When I got the call from an agent in California for a makeup artist gig in August, I was psyched! And the timing was perfect. I was asked if I knew a hair stylist. So of course I gave her my "go to" girl's, Tiffany Dewald, contact info.
The dynamic duo at it again! Our newest artist Christina would be with us to, to assist as needed.
It was kept pretty hush hush who Tiffany and I would be working with until the week of the show. Then we were told it would be Bridgit Mendler! Now my daughter Gigi is 5 and addicted to Disney, so I knew who she was. What I didn't know is she is an amazing singer beyond Disney type music!
back stage with Bridgit!
She was also so gracious! My daughter was so excited, she made Bridgit a card and asked me to take it to her. Bridgit sent home an autographed picture for Gigi's wall.

Bridgit's keyboardist, Neara Russell, stopped in to say hi and see what Bridgit's makeup looked like so she could coordinate. So I sat her down and did some shadow, false lashes and a quick look. She loved getting tips on applying false lashes!

While I was out front trying to get a few shots for the blog, I noticed a guy with a nice big pro camera shooting as well.I mentioned we do charity events as well. And that's where I knew him from. We had worked together on a fundraiser for The American Heart Association, Go Red for Women. He was very generous in sending me the rest of these(including the one of Bridgit above). Thanks Chuck!www.cperkinsphotography.com
So, I had a great time, heard great music and my daughter thinks I am the coolest mom ever.. I wonder how long that will last? Hopefully a couple of years, or until I get another amazing opportunity like this.

When these 2 greet you at the door when you arrive to start bridal makeup, you know it will be a fun day. How can you not smile seeing these cute faces? That little one i wanted to tuck on my handbag and take him home with me!
Erica was referred to me by my friend and photographer Shavonne, from Shavonne Joliee Photography http://www.shavonnejolieecny.blogspot.com/
Shavonne was shooting the wedding, to be held at one of my favorite venues, The Lodge at Welch Allyn.
Good genes run in this family of beauties!

Erica and Chuck decided on a first look and photos before their ceremony. I love this, as I think it really makes the bride and groom more at ease the rest of the day.

Congrats Erica and Chuck on such a beautiful day!

Erin's big day

Erin had been in a wedding the previous year I did, so I was one of the first vendors she booked when her time came.Even with the salon they went to caused the girls to run way behind schedule *** seriously, hire a stylist that will come on location. The running around is not worth it** I still finished pretty close to schedule.
While waiting for the girls to return from the salon, Erin's mom and I got to know each other and I even talked her into false lashes. Once a mom sees the effect it has on making their eyes look more bright eyed, they LOVE them!

3 times in my makeup chair is a charm

Brooke has been in my makeup chair 3 times. First for her BFF's Jenn's wedding (where Brooke had  experienced a horrible spray tanning incident. Proof to try things in advance of any major event).

The second time, she contracted me to be the makeup artist for her sister's wedding. A gorgeous affair at the Clayton Opera House, which was photographed by Bert Pohl Photography.

The third time was for her own wedding! It is one of the things I love most about the job. Building relationships with clients that see them through these amazing life events.
Brooke had a large bridal party so Jessica traveled with me to do makeup for half of the girls.
Brooke, Jenn and the girls

I ask for each bride's photographer's info when booking them. I like to know who I'm working with that day. Her original photographer I hadn't heard of. So I did a search on them. They had an entire website created by over 20 clients they had never delivered photos to!! The clients had logged complaints to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General!
I quickly emailed Brooke the link to the site I had discovered. With Brooke's dad about to be deployed to Afghanistan soon after the wedding, I knew these photos would be especially important to the family.
Brooke contacted Bert Pohl Photography in hopes they would be available instead. They were able to make some changes in their schedule and save the day!!

Bert and Kryna are a husband and wife team that I LOVE working with. They have great artistic vision. They worked with closely with Brooke to get the shots she really wanted.

Forgive me for posting so many photos, but this was one of my favorite weddings for 2011.
I hope I get to work with Bert & Kryna again this year.
And congrats to Brooke on the news of her expecting late this Summer!

A-List Artistry's Bridal Makeup Captured by Vanessa Finch Photography

I've had the pleasure of working with Vanessa on quite a few occasions. She just sent me some of her favorites from weddings we've worked together on. I even had the pleasure of doing Vanessa's makeup for her BFF's makeup, Andrea this last Fall. Even though Vanessa was supposed to be relaxing with the girls, she couldn't resist snapping these shots.
Love Andrea looking at her lashes!

lovely bride Vanessa (not the same Vanessa:)

Thanks for sharing Vanessa!
I see we already have another Skaneateles bride for 2012 we'll be working with together!

Marie's Bayshore Grove wedding- Makeup & Hair

It was hot outside in July, but Marie remained cool as a cucumber in the luxury of the A/C suite provided for her wedding party at Bayshore Grove in Oswego. It was my first wedding there and it is a makeup artists dream. One wall is a makeup/hair station! Great lighting!
Marie booked Tiffany Dewald for hairstyling and had her add extra hair for that extra WOW factor.Of course we added false lashes as well! Marie and her bridal party had airbrush makeup applied and despite 95 degree heat, looked great til the late hours of the night.
Photos provided by the talented Crystal Herry. Her images capture each bride's beauty in unique ways. If her name and work sound familiar, she photographed Megan Thomas's wedding and her image is on my company's advertising. Love her work!

Meghan Thomas Wedding

Bridal Portrait
Meghan Thomas is a wedding photographer in Syracuse, NY. She made her decision to book me as her bridal makeup artist after photographing an engagement session I had done the makeup for. She loved what I did on Katie and contacted me to be her wedding day makeup artist.
Our first meeting was for her bridal portrait makeup. Working with a photographer as a bride is ideal. She knew what worked and didn't for photos and the importance of having long wearing products. She let me use my expertise to provide a flawless look with airbrush makeup.
wedding day @ Mirbeau

Meghan's wedding day went perfect. She had created a schedule between makeup artist services and hair stylist services. All were done on location at Mirbeau Inn & Spa. It kept the bridal party together and comfortable while waiting for their turn to be made beautiful.
Thanks to Meghan I also was makeup artist for her sister, Emily's wedding several weeks ago.Hopefully photos to follow.
