Nadia- a makeup artist's dream

Nadia was so sweet to send me these shots of her and her girls, taken by Mabyn Ludke Photography. See her full blog on Nadia and Mike here www.mabyn.com/wedding/nadia-mikes-love-story/
Be sure to look at the hangers Nadia made for her and her girls to hang their dresses. She seriously is thinking of starting an Etsy business and I think she would sell tons!

Her location was the Sheraton at Syracuse University, which I love as a makeup artist for several reasons. Lots of room and lots of natural light.

Gorgeous hair piece. Just one of many beautiful details Nadia thought of.

Nadia followed all of the prep tips we send to our brides to help the day stay on schedule and keep everyone on the same page.

She had great photo opps for her girls with them all in matching robe's.

So beautiful! Outside and in!

Thank you Nadia for the photos and the 5 start review on Wedding Wire. We loved being a part of your day!

Justin Mayer captures the moments

No Regrets!

My own wedding over 11 years ago. I have a lovely album to show off. Some framed photos of the day. I also have the mini video cassette that my aunt so graciously filmed of our ceremony. Which we never watch, because we don't have a  VCR anymore. I didn't put a lot of thought into hiring a pro to film our day.
My one regret of the whole day.

When I saw Rosanne and Steve had Justin Mayer of Mayer Video filming their day, I was intrigued. I  wanted see what modern videography would bring to the day. I have worked several weddings with very intrusive videographers. One actually hit my elbow while I was applying eye makeup, trying to get his "shots" of me applying makeup to the bride. The bride was unscathed, but I was certainly not impressed.

Justin could not have been more professional!  I also found he was a genuine nice guy.
Shortly after the wedding Justin posted a short video on his blog. I was mesmerized! I also admit, a little teary as well. The video completely captures the emotions of the day.
See for yourself

Tara's Rosamond Gifford Zoo Wedding

Tara contacted me a little over a week before her wedding, looking for an artist for her wedding. Thankfully Jessica was available for the time Tara needed to get ready in.
Airbrush makeup by Jessica @ A-List Artistry
Tara had such an amazing location for her wedding: The Rosamond Gifford Zoo! This was our first bride to have a zoo venue and we were super excited! Tara choose a bolder eye look to compliment the venue.
Tara was so excited to share pictures with us. I usually post primarily professional photos vs guest photos, but we're excited to share Tara's special guest.
I believe this is Siri the Asian Elephant. I had the pleasure of visiting her in the elephant barn with my 4 year old daughter Gigi. Her favorite treat? Black jellybeans!(as approved by her handler)

A few really cool facts about catering at the zoo:
100% of the profits from Catering at the Zoo goes to the care and feeding of the zoo animals!
Catering at the Zoo uses local produce and follows a "green" operation whenever possible.

Lots of good reasons to choose the zoo for your next event!

Laure Lillie captures Maureen's amazing day

One of the things  I love about my job is meeting new people. Brides, their family and friends, and some of the vendors they have chosen for the day. August bride Maureen was referred to me by Alexis Cohen. Alexis is the Catering Sales Manager for Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel.
Alexis is amazing with her bridal clients. She wants nothing but the best for them. Since Maureen was staying at the Sheraton, Alexis recommended me for on location airbrush makeup. Tiffany was signed on for on location hair styling and Maureen spent a relaxing morning having her makeup and hair done at the hotel.

I was so excited to learn Maureen had hired Laure Lillie for her photographer! Laure was an additional shooter on another wedding I had done, but we never got the opportunity to meet. I have been following her work and love what I see. So I knew..... Maureen is going to have some fantastic photos!

Was I right! Maureen's ceremony was at Syracuse University's campus chapel. A beautiful setting. And when Maureen slipped on her dress.... it was a moment to say the least. The cut was amazing and she looked breathtaking!
