A-List Artistry at Mirbeau Spa for Katie's The Lodge at Welch Allyn Wedding

The colors are so beautiful!
Katie was referred to me by Crystal Herry Photography. Crystal has been taking pictures of Katie since she was young and a dancer.
I create a face chart for each bride after their trial.

Some of my favorite shadows for bridal work in my leopard Z-Palette
I love working in natural light when possible
Mirbeau has such great opportunity for natural light while I do makeup. I really love when a bride says she is getting ready there. Their staff is also very accommodating to bridal parties as well. Always a plus!
She loves it!

Love mother daughter shots!

Mirbeau makes such a perfect backdrop for these photos

We are so honored to be on The Lodge at Welch Allyn's preferred vendor list! I believe we work with more brides that get married there than any other venue. And once you check out the place, you can see why so many brides choose to book with them. Gorgeous view and endless possibilities to create a personal reception that reflects the bride and groom.
SO happy!
Even after an early morning start, Katie still looks gorgeous!

The Lodge at Welch Allyn: bridal makeup for Jessica and her girls in Skaneateles, NY

The morning of Jessica's December 29th wedding it was snowing. A lot. The drive to Skaneateles to the Old Stone Mill where Jessica and her girls were getting ready proved to be pretty eventful.Christina was riding with me to assist on makeup and we did a couple of 180's and 360's on the way to the girls and on the way home.
But the treacherous drive was well worth it to be with Jessica and her girls. Jessica's photographer, Aaron Varga  came from Pittsburgh, PA to shoot her wedding. He turned the bad weather into an ideal photo op
He created some of the most beautiful bridal photos I have come across!

Perfect color palette for Jessica's makeup. So pretty

Pretty maids. Flowers from Whistlestop

I love The Lodge at Welch Allyn. Great ceremony space!

The flowers are so elegant. Whistlestop Florist created these masterpieces.

The umbrellas were a last minute detail. They are perfection

The Lodge at Welch Allyn is beautiful year round. But this shot at Jessica's December winter white wedding is pretty spectacular.
Even after having makeup and hair started at 9AM, Jessica still looks amazing at the end of her evening

Bridal Makeup Artist for Shavonne

I love all of our brides... I really do. They each have unique stories. The fact we get to be such an intimate part of their biggest day is really touching. But when we get to be a part of the day of someone we know and love? THAT is the best feeling!

When my dear friend Shavonne asked me to be her bridal makeup artist, I was thrilled to say the least. I think she asked me before she was even officially engaged! But being a photographer, she understands the difference having a professional come to do your makeup can make in the day.

The coolest thing about these photos are that Shavonne shot these herself, before her photographer got there.

Jessica's makeup artistry for Tyng's Turning Stone Wedding

Jessica's day doing airbrush makeup with Tyng at the Tower at Turning Stone Casino and Resort was fun filled. Tyng chose The Tower over The Lodge because, as she put it, She and her fiance wanted to be close to the action! I loved her zest for life and making the wedding details personal.
As you can see her detail of hiring a pro makeup artist certainly paid off! She looks stunning and ready for all the action!

Bridal Makeup for Ellen and Her Ladies

Ellen and her bridal party got ready at her parent's house in Manlius. Practically around the corner from me!
It was a nice short drive for artist Christina Cianciosi and I to get to the house and meet up with our favorite hair stylist, Tiffany Dewald.

Christina working her magic
With Ellen's larger party, Christina and I each did makeup to keep the ladies from having to spend too many hours getting ready for the big event. Ellen opted for airbrush makeup along with her sisters and some of the girls opted for hand-applied makeup. All came out gorgeous!

Holly and Tiffany adjusting Ellen's fascinator

Ellen's girls were so fun to work with! Loved the shirts they made for the occasion. I think almost everyone there knew the same people Christina knew. Everyone felt like family by the time we left.
So pretty!

The final look! What wonderful weather for this Fall wedding. Lucky Ellen! And beautiful work by Genevieve Fridley, the photographer that captured Ellen's day!www.genphotos.com

Nadia- a makeup artist's dream

Nadia was so sweet to send me these shots of her and her girls, taken by Mabyn Ludke Photography. See her full blog on Nadia and Mike here www.mabyn.com/wedding/nadia-mikes-love-story/
Be sure to look at the hangers Nadia made for her and her girls to hang their dresses. She seriously is thinking of starting an Etsy business and I think she would sell tons!

Her location was the Sheraton at Syracuse University, which I love as a makeup artist for several reasons. Lots of room and lots of natural light.

Gorgeous hair piece. Just one of many beautiful details Nadia thought of.

Nadia followed all of the prep tips we send to our brides to help the day stay on schedule and keep everyone on the same page.

She had great photo opps for her girls with them all in matching robe's.

So beautiful! Outside and in!

Thank you Nadia for the photos and the 5 start review on Wedding Wire. We loved being a part of your day!

Makeup artists in Syracuse have fun too!

Being a makeup artist in Syracuse does have some fun opportunities beyond doing makeup for bridal work. While bridal is a large part of our business, we also do commercials, print work, head shots, charity functions and on occasion entertainers.
When I got the call from an agent in California for a makeup artist gig in August, I was psyched! And the timing was perfect. I was asked if I knew a hair stylist. So of course I gave her my "go to" girl's, Tiffany Dewald, contact info.
The dynamic duo at it again! Our newest artist Christina would be with us to, to assist as needed.
It was kept pretty hush hush who Tiffany and I would be working with until the week of the show. Then we were told it would be Bridgit Mendler! Now my daughter Gigi is 5 and addicted to Disney, so I knew who she was. What I didn't know is she is an amazing singer beyond Disney type music!
back stage with Bridgit!
She was also so gracious! My daughter was so excited, she made Bridgit a card and asked me to take it to her. Bridgit sent home an autographed picture for Gigi's wall.

Neara Russell (taken with my point and shoot camera)
Bridgit's keyboardist, Neara Russell, stopped in to say hi and see what Bridgit's makeup looked like so she could coordinate. So I sat her down and did some shadow, false lashes and a quick look. She loved getting tips on applying false lashes!

While I was out front trying to get a few shots for the blog, I noticed a guy with a nice big pro camera shooting as well.I mentioned we do charity events as well. And that's where I knew him from. We had worked together on a fundraiser for The American Heart Association, Go Red for Women. He was very generous in sending me the rest of these(including the one of Bridgit above). Thanks Chuck!www.cperkinsphotography.com
So, I had a great time, heard great music and my daughter thinks I am the coolest mom ever.. I wonder how long that will last? Hopefully a couple of years, or until I get another amazing opportunity like this.
